Dartmouth welcomes pair back from EAW hell
Wednesday, 3rd March 2010
The two Britons held without charge for 17 weeks in a Hungarian prison were welcomed back home yesterday by William Dartmouth, UKIP’s South West MEP.
Jason McGoldrick, 37, from Devon and Michael Turner, 27, from Dorset, were imprisoned after their Budapest-based marketing firm collapsed. The Hungarian authorities have not given any reason for the pair’s sudden release.
Lord Dartmouth has voiced his disapproval in the European Parliament at the way the men were treated and speaking at Gatwick Airport yesterday he called for an end to the European Arrest Warrant which Hungarian police used to detain the pair.
