BCC call to help business welcome
Saturday, 3rd September 2011
Godfrey Bloom MEP, UKIP Business spokesman, has welcomed calls from the British Chamber of Commerce for less red tape and to make working always preferable to welfare.
"What the BCC are saying is plain common sense," Mr Bloom said.
"I have been calling for years to have a reform of the welfare system that encourages work rather than indigence.
"As to red tape... until British business and its spokesman, like the BCC, make it clear that our membership of the EU is responsible for most of the massive compliance costs facing British business we will get nowhere.
"It doesn't matter how business friendly Westminster is, when you have the EU building mountainous tangles of red tape to penalise anybody considering employing anyone.
"It is a shame that David Frost has waited until the last day in his job to point out the bleeding obvious, but better late than never."
