Griffin on TV 'embarrassing'
Friday, 23rd October 2009
UKIP Leader Nigel Farage called BNP boss Nick Griffin's Question Time appearance "embarassing and cringeworthy".
Griffin's widely-publicised appearance on TV drew protestors to the BBC studios throughout the country. But instead of provoking alarm across the nation, the racist Party Leader was a laughing stock after his his inept display.
"Griffin was publicly exposed as the fantasist he really is," said Mr Farage.
"His views and those of his party are repugnant to all right-thinking Britons and it was his defence of the Ku Klux Klan that really shone a light on the ugly face of the BNP. His display was truly embarrasing and cringeworthy.
"Any attempts to address immigration issues in this country by the BNP are always tainted by xenophobia and racism.
"By comparison, the UK Independence Party explores the immigration question in a non-racist and non-sectarian way that is intelligent and perfectly acceptable to our members and the 2.5 million people who voted for us in the European elections."
