UKIP Earl blasts Parliament
Friday, 18th December 2009
UKIP MEP William Dartmouth has delivered a stinging rebuke to the European Parliament over the lack of transparency in EU decision-making.
In a speech to the European Parliament this week, the Earl of Dartmouth said that EU decision-making was undertaken "furtively, secretly, surreptitiously" and instead of being "open and transparent" was now proposing to "restrict access to documents that are currently public".
"Decisions that are made without transparency and no proper public scrutiny, have a built-in tendency to be bad decisions," he said.
