UKIP lends support to veterans
Monday, 9th August 2010
UKIP chairman Paul Nuttall has thrown his weight behind a campaign supporting the rights of ex-servicemen.
The Equality For Veterans Association (EFVA) is campaigning to provide ex-servicemen, who served for less than 22 years before April 1975, with an Armed Forces Pension.
“I think it is an absolute disgrace that men and women who served this country have been treated so shabbily by successive governments," said Mr Nuttall.
"Their commitment should be recognised and reciprocated, but unfortunately it is not.
“There must be thousands of men and women across the UK who served in the Armed Forces who feel they are not being supported in the manner they deserve. I encourage them to contact EFVA and get behind the campaign ” he said.
