Cuts at home but EU spending boost
Wednesday, 20th October 2010
"Britain faces unprecedented cuts at home", said Prof Tim Congdon, UKIP's economics spokesman, "but this government is doing nothing to stop a significant rise in our spending on Brussels".
"It is is extraordinary that this Government is happy to see us increasing our spending on Brussels by 5.9% but cutting police, defence, and prisons"
"I cannot believe that a single person in this country could have believed when they voted in June that we would come to this," said Professor Congdon
"Worse still in otrder to pay the bill for Brussels we are having to borrow, the borrowing will add to the debt burden faced by every family in the country."
