UKIP plan for Stormont elections
Wednesday, 17th November 2010
UKIP plans to stand up to seven candidates in next May's Stormont elections in Northern Ireland.
Deputy Leader Paul Nuttall, in Northern Ireland this week, said: "What we offer is a non-sectarian, sensible brand of Unionism. We think the political climate is right for a party like UKIP - people are growing increasingly euro-skeptic and we think there is a fantastic opportunity for us to make inroads here."
UKIP Councillor Henry Reilly is to stand in South Down, while Dr Fred McGlade is expected to stand in North Down. Other candidates will be announced in due course.
