Cost of climate change initatives sought

Lord Pearson is pressing the Government for answers on a number of climate change initiatives and tabled the following written questions on July 8.
1) Lord Pearson of Rannoch to ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the answer by Lord Marland on 5 July (HL Deb, col 3), what is their assessment of the likely impact of the Climate Change Act 2008 and European Union initiatives to reduce carbon dioxide emissions on the number of people in fuel poverty in the United Kingdom.
2) Lord Pearson of Rannoch to ask Her Majesty's Government what is their assessment of the annual cost to the United Kingdom of meeting the requirements of the Climate Change Act 2008, in light of the estimate of £50 billion by Bob Wigley (pictured left), Chairman of the Green Investment Bank Commission.
An answer is expected within a fortnight.
