Marta continues fight against AIFM plans

The campaign against the destructive AIFM directive continued in the European parliament this week with UKIP’s Budget spokeswoman Marta Andreasen denouncing the plans as protectionist nonsense.
The UKIP MEP has been a leading light in the war against the directive, which would prevent European fund managers from doing business with non EU-based financiers. Such a move would be hugely damaging to the UK, where approximately 80% of European hedge funds are based.
Briefing the media in Brussels, Marta Andreasen explained that the AIFM directive is too far-reaching and does not address the causes of the worldwide financial crisis. Watch her speech here:
