Plans to go soft on rapists 'out of touch'
Wednesday, 18th May 2011
After Justice Secretary Ken Clarke unveiled plans to halve sentences for rapists who plead guilty at the first opportunity, UKIP Leader Nigel Farage branded him "out of touch".
"The comments over the last 24 hours by the Justice Secretary show how out of touch he is with the British people," Mr Farage said.
"If the Prime Minister has seriously signed off these proposals then the coalition has little credibility left when it comes to law and order. We fully oppose these plans and believe that community sentences should be abolished for all sexual offences."
