Nanny is at it again, and this time the target is the good old British cuppa, which, says a government-funded quango (to the tune of £15 million), is too dangerous to serve to children. The School Food Trust says schools should not serve tea to pupils under 16 on health and safety grounds. It says hot tea and coffee have "minimal" nutritional benefits and could be risky.
Mick Brookes, of the National Association of Head Teachers, says: "This nannying has to end."
