Tory-controlled Huntingdonshire District Council has spent £29,000 of its taxpayers’ money on creating a new logo because the previous one allegedly had "inadequate colour contrast" to be seen clearly by partially sighted people. The Telegraph reports that the council feared the old logo might have breached the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act, which says public services must be "accessible” to everyone.
The logo has changed from plain text in black, grey and purple to what is supposedly green countryside with a blue river crossed by a white bridge.
The council has not explained whether the new design will be fully “accessible” to people who are colour-blind. Back to You Couldn’t Make it Up |
