Housing is the most important issue for Londoners in the upcoming mayoral election with immigration coming in at second, a new poll by ComRes for BBC London indicates.
Fifty-six per cent of those polled said housing was one of the most important challenges facing London. Immigration (38%), security from terrorism (26%) and healthcare (23%) were among the other top issues.
Responding to the results of the poll, UKIP London Mayoral candidate Peter Whittle said, "This polling confirms what I've been saying throughout my campaign. Immigration is a key issue to Londoners despite it being totally ignored by the other candidates. It affects every issue, including housing, and Londoners know this. I will be the only candidate making the argument that we need to control our borders, and to do that we must leave the European Union."
