UKIP’s Lord Pearson of Rannoch who last year tabled a bill, which now awaits it's Second Reading in the House of Lords, to decriminalise the non-payment of the licence fee has today welcomed the plans backed by ministers that would mean that it would no longer be a criminal offence to refuse to pay the TV licence fee.
“UKIP has been aware in recent weeks of relentless activity by Times journalists aiming to derail its rapid rise in popularity. This has included questioning about the private lives of party staff that would disgrace the now defunct News of The World.
As announced by Suzanne Evans on the Daily Politics show today, UKIP will be holding an Action Day in Harlow on Saturday 29th March.
