This year's Spring Conference will be a two-day event for the first time. With so many people now applying to undergo our Candidate Assessment Centres, there's a strong demand for training – and there are plenty of other people who want to brush up on policy, campaigning and electoral rules.
So we've devised a Training Day at the Embassy Theatre, Skegness on Friday 2 March, that will enable applicants, approved candidates, agents, branch officials and campaigners to brush up on a wide range of vital knowledge and skills that will help us win elections.
The day will be divided into three 90-minute sessions:
11am –12.30pm SESSION ONE (Options)
Candidate Training: Public Speaking (2/3 groups)
Candidate Training: Media (2/3 groups)
Policy Workshops (details to be announced on 1 Feb)
12.30–2pm LUNCH
Break-out projects and discussion groups
+ an opportunity to get yourself a professional campaign photo
2–3.30pm SESSION TWO (Plenary)
How to represent UKIP in Local Government, including:
– The 5-point election plan
– UKIP's local government manifesto
– Q&A on being a Councillor at Tier 1, 2 and 3
– MyUKIP.com, leaflets and materials
4–5.30pm SESSION THREE (Options)
Candidate Training: Public Speaking (2/3 groups)
Candidate Training: Media (2/3 groups)
Election Training: Electoral Commission and Local Government Association
