ALEX SALMOND CAVES IN OVER ‘LUNCHGATE’

ALEX SALMOND was yesterday forced into a humiliating climbdown as he cancelled a series of Holyrood lunches sold to raise thousands of pounds for SNP funds.   The scrapped events included a £9,000 lunch with the First Minister and a £2,000 lunch with his deputy, Nicola Sturgeon, that sparked the ‘cash for access’ row.  Last night, it also emerged four other Scottish Parliament lunches and tours had been offered as prizes in recent months to raise money for the SNP.
