UKIP Defence Spokesman Mike Hookem expresses grave concerns about the possibility of mission creep in Iraq

MikeHookem.jpgUKIP’s Defence Spokesman, Mike Hookem MEP, has today expressed “grave concerns” about the possibility of mission creep, following the Government’s decision to reinforce British forces in Iraq.

Mike Hookem said: “I am extremely concerned about the potential of mission creep; where we go from a supporting role to a fighting role without properly considering the consequences. Any role our armed forces training teams are committed to must be both properly defined and time limited to make sure we don’t inadvertently get dragged into a third land war in Iraq.”
