New Plaid Cymru Leader Adam Price has announced that Welsh independence should be "on the table" after Brexit.
Mr Price claimed that "the appetite for Scottish independence and Irish unity" would be "insatiable" and that Wales should follow that trend.
UKIP Leader Gerard Batten commented:
"Adam Price is living in fantasy land. A March 2018 poll revealed that only 7% of Welsh people support independence for Wales - and what kind of independence would it be under the jackboots of his friends in Brussels?
"Wales has just four MEPs in a European Parliament which currently stands at 751 members. Does he really think that Wales will have a greater say over its destiny in that environment compared to the 40 MPs it has at Westminster? The Europhilia of people like Mr Price is beyond rational understanding."
